our-teamJarrett P. Macanas, Attorney
LL.M. in Taxation, Boston University College of Law (Exp. ’14)
J.D., University of Utah College of Law
B.S., Brigham Young University
Licensed in Hawaii and Utah (Inactive)

Jarrett leads the law practice and sets the tone for how our legal services are delivered. As an estate planning attorney, says Jarrett, “In my line of work, nothing is more satisfying than guiding a client through a challenging time in their life and watching their attitude and disposition improve when they realize their most important legal affairs are being handled in a prompt, proficient and ethical manner.”

Jarrett excels at building long-lasting relationships and is often called upon to assist in multi-generational family counseling and representation. Before Jarrett established Macanas Law Firm in 2010, he was associated with an estate planning law firm in Honolulu specializing in Medicaid planning and estate planning. The majority of his attorney work was centered on elder law and high-end asset protection cases calling for alternative methods to achieving eligibility for Medicaid for nursing homes. Before that, he practiced law with a firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, focusing in divorce and estate planning.

Since 2011, Jarrett has held an adjunct lecturer position at the University of Hawaii’s Kapiolani Community College, where he teaches Law 151: Estate Planning & Probate and Law 121: Law of Business Organizations for the accredited paralegal program. He has also presented seminars to the Hawaii State Bar Association, private nursing homes, the general public, and clients and employees of some of Hawaii’s largest banking and financial institutions, speaking on Asset Protection, Medicaid Planning, Estate Planning and Business Succession Planning.

Jarrett and his wife have three children and reside in Kailua, Hawaii. Together they enjoy supporting their children’s demanding sports schedules, travelling and spending time enjoying the islands.

She loves assisting clients every step of the way–from the first phone call to the closing meeting. Her organizational skills, sharp mind, attention to detail, compassionate attitude and sincere desire to help others has served her well in this industry. It comes as no surprise that clients continue to rave over her stellar customer service and see her as the ultimate “go-to” person when something urgent and delicate needs to be completed. Tiffany holds two Master’s Degrees and a Bachelor’s Degree. Prior to her involvement with the firm, she was a Vice-Principal at an elementary school. Her education and background make her a natural teacher and leader. She loves fitness, playing with her three adorable children and learning about Hawaii real estate markets.
